What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas… except when a spirit attaches itself to you. Then it’s probably comin’ with ya.
It all began the moment we set foot in the Zak Bagans Haunted Museum in Las Vegas.
This is the waiver you have to sign before entering the museum. Basically it states that you understand the risks of entering a place that is filled with haunted objects and that the museum cannot be held liable for whatever may happen to you during or after your time there.
I was excited to go because I love spooky stuff! Halloween is my favorite holiday for a reason.
When you first walk in, you are able to take pictures; once the tour begins, you cannot.
This is the very first thing that I saw when I entered the museum.
Dolls scare me more than almost anything in the world, so I was pretty freaked out, but I went through the whole museum and I even went into the 18+ age exhibits (You had to be at least 18 because of the dangers of these objects).
I’m not going to go into specifics as to what was in the museum because I don’t want to ruin the scary fun for others if they decide to go; trust me, it is worth it.
Now, the reason for the “spring break from hell” title and “spirit attachment” intro is what events transpired following the haunted museum.
The day after we went to the museum was our last day in Vegas. My sister, my two best friends and myself were going to go walk around the strip and then one of the friends was going to drop the rest of us off at the Greyhound bus station to head to Los Angeles for the rest of the week. We had to checkout of our place by 11 am, so a couple of us headed to the car with a load of bags and as we began pulling the car to the front of the building, we notice a clunking sound.
There was a big nail in her tire, so we spent the rest of our day in Vegas paying to get to a car store to buy a tire jack, going back to the place we were staying and waiting for a nice stranger to come up and change the tire for us (I realize that I should learn how to change a tire but it’s fine!) and then we took the car to get new tires put on and then straight to the bus station.
To continue the already cursed day, we got on the Greyhound bus for a VERY long 5 hour trip. The bus driver drove like a lunatic. We ended up next to a lady who was having a full conversation with herself and only a few rows behind a child that screamed the entire trip, and I mean the whole 5 hours. On top of it, we were sitting right next to the bathroom which smelled so awful that I don’t even have the words to describe it.
Finally we got to LA and we were so relieved to have survived that trip. We called an Uber to come get us and he was in a Prius (we had 4 large suitcases that did not want to be stuffed into a Prius).
When we got to the place we were staying we were relieved to find out that it was a nice gated in apartment that was only a few blocks from Hollywood Blvd. We were starving so we took another Uber to a restaurant, sat and ate for about an hour and then got an Uber back to the apartment.
Let me pause for a minute. I understand that this next part is entirely my fault… well probably, but I’m going to go ahead and blame our ghostie friends that were cursing our day.
I panicked immediately because my sister and friend had trusted me with the apartment key and I did not have it. I wasn’t sure what to do, so I called the restaurant, but it wasn’t there. Luckily, after calling our previous driver 6 or 7 times, he finally answered and told me he had found the key. Of course he was already 40 minutes away from where we were, so we were stuck sitting outside for about an hour while we waited for him to drive back and drop it off.
You probably would think, well at least the weather in California was probably nice! And you’d be wrong. The temperature was probably about 40 and windy and it was about 2 am there.
Once we got into the apartment we had finally gotten all of the bad juju out of the way!
Of course there had to be one more accident which happened when my friend tried to sit on the corner of the air mattress that my sister and I were on, and she bounced off and smacked into the floor and coffee table. While it was pretty dang funny, I’m sure there was a ghostie pushing her around!
It was a hauntingly good trip otherwise! More to come on the positive events that transpired throughout the week!
